Released in early 2024, the Tandem Mobi is less than half the size of the t:slim X2. It is designed for maximum discretion and wearability while retaining the powerful Control-IQ automated insulin delivery algorithm.
Hardware & Wearability
The Mobi has no screen (other than a small LED indicator and a physical button for quick bolusing). It must be controlled entirely via an iPhone app (Android compatibility is in development). Because it is so small, it can be worn in several ways:
- Clipped to a waistband or pocket.
- Placed in a coin pocket.
- Worn directly on the body using a specialized adhesive sleeve and a very short 5-inch infusion set tubing (functioning somewhat like a patch pump, but with the ability to disconnect).
Algorithm & Integration
The Mobi uses the exact same Control-IQ algorithm as the t:slim X2. It integrates with both the Dexcom G6 and G7, and recently added compatibility with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor.
